Project Brief & Approach

Stand.earth was looking for assistance with creating the cover illustration for the Fossil-Free Fashion Scorecard interactive website and accompanying summary PDF. Stand.earth wanted a unique way to represent a fossil-free future, taking inspiration from the fashion world, and convey the key message that the sector needs to redesign their business model to create a sustainable industry.

My illustration concept was to showcase fashion that was inspired by renewable energy itself—solar panels creating a bomber-style jacket, and wind turbines forming the structure of a dress. I focused on creating the "blueprint" sketches on the top alongside tailoring tools and gadgets, and illustrated a cityscape below, connecting the renewable energy in the clothing above with the environment below.

"Cheryl was able to bring our vision with accuracy and incredible design. The process of working has been clear from the beginning of the project to the end. Cheryl meets deadlines and understands feedback."
