VALENTINE’S DAY + HOLIDAY ILLUSTRATIONS
The Port of Vancouver was looking to create a series of Valentine’s Day and holiday social media graphics. The illustrations included port-related puns and showcased the landscape of Vancouver along with the Port’s main business sectors. While the overall tone of the project was fun and playful, the client wanted to maintain a balance between humour and professionalism in the execution, while also staying consistent with the brand guidelines.
“We've worked with Cheryl on multiple projects and on many occasions, we receive notes from our stakeholders commenting on good work. For some of our social media graphics, her graphics work was associated with our top-performing social posts based on engagement. The breadth of the design and illustration skills were impressive. Also, the thoughtfulness and care that she takes in her work.”

Holiday Card
Every year, the Port of Vancouver creates a holiday greeting card for employees to send to personal work contacts, suppliers, sponsors, and vendors. I work collaboratively with the client to discuss ideas for the holiday card, which typically represents the Port of Vancouver and its operations.
For the 2023 year, we moved forward with the concept of hot chocolate in mugs. The mugs had an illustrated scene of Canada Place and the Port of Vancouver, and represented the five business sectors. The greeting “happy holidays” was custom lettering to mimic the look of latte art.
“Cheryl is very easy to work with and a great communicator. There is something about Cheryl's ability to translate text from a creative brief into an illustration or infographic that accurately captures what it is we are trying to accomplish. I would (and have) recommend Cheryl to anyone looking for a superstar designer.”
